NOT WITHOUT AFFECTION

When Mr Collins visits Longbourn, Elizabeth Bennet is shocked by the sycophantic behaviour of her family toward the Longbourn heir. Mrs Bennet declares that any of her daughters had better accept the man if he offers for them, and Elizabeth quickly comes to suspect that her father will not defend them should they wish to refuse. Despite her protestations, Elizabeth finds herself engaged to her cousin against her will and her sisters turned against her, showing Elizabeth harsh revelations about Jane's true character. She makes plans to escape the untenable situation, with help from Charlotte, and surprisingly, Mr Darcy, but the marriage moves forward despite their efforts and Lizzy is forced to accept her fate.

When Elizabeth is unexpectedly relieved of her unwanted husband, her new friends at Rosings support her as she builds her new life, while Mr Darcy is relieved to have a chance to win her heart but knows he must wait to court her to preserve her reputation. While he suffers the long wait of her mourning until she can be courted, Elizabeth must decide if she is willing to try again, as estate matters and other parties threaten to end the match before it is made in this 68,000-word Pride and Prejudice Variation.

The Victorian Vagaries are a bit of a fairy tale... Have you ever read Pride and Prejudice, a Variation, a sequel, or any other book, and just wish it could go on for years? The Victorian Vagaries is the story of the Bennet women over twelve years of life and love... The men and heroes we love are ever present of course, but this is the story of the Bennet women in a slightly more modern setting, while keeping to the historical fiction theme that we all love.

Moving the story forward 36 years brings us to a time where more women were working, and the industrial revolution is taking over. Times and opportunities are changing for men and women alike, and Lady Elizabeth Astley, a society widow, and the eldest of her siblings, must protect herself and her vast fortune earned by investing with her uncle from fortune hunters and heiress snatchers, as well as support her step mother and four half sisters as they each break free from the fates laid down before them and meet their destinies. Some characters deviate from canon, others remain charmingly as we know them, and friends from other Jane Austen worlds join us, but never how you might expect, though everyone we love finds their happy ending, and when Elizabeth and Darcy find their happiness, their bond is as strong and beautiful as any of us could hope…

PRIDE AND PRECIPITANCE

In Volume One of our Victorian Vagaries, Lady Elizabeth Astley, three years widowed, has returned to Meryton to enjoy the country with her young daughter. The eldest of Mr Bennet's daughters, Elizabeth is an outcast among her sisters and step-mother, but does her best to help her sisters find themselves – and to help Jane when Caroline and Mrs Bennet's behavior causes catastrophe.

Will Netherfield's impressive guest Mr Darcy recognize Elizabeth's worth, or will he continue in his typical prideful behavior? Follow Elizabeth as she narrowly evades the aggressive pursuit of our favorite wastrel – who is a true villain – assists Rosings Park and her cousin Charlotte Collins when disaster strikes Hunsford, and teaches a proud and foolish man the art of pleasing a woman worthy of being pleased.

CHIVALRY AND CHAUVINISM

In Volume Two of our Victorian Vagaries, when Elizabeth and Darcy travel to Pemberley in all haste to assist Georgiana – who is desperately ill – Elizabeth has high hopes of a warm welcome from the staff and the assistance of a kind and experienced housekeeper. Mrs Reynolds – who has been in the service of the Darcy family for four decades – does not approve of her master's new wife, her child, her family, nor even her little dog – and has no intention of handing over the reins of the household.

As Georgiana's health hangs in the balance, Darcy and Elizabeth struggle to learn the cause of Georgiana's illness, while Mrs Reynolds stubbornly does her utmost to interfere in her new mistress's arrangements. When the family returns to London for the season, Mary must learn to take on society, avoid compromise, and find her heart's desire.

The main characters of Sense & Sensibility join us in this 89,000 word slow burn, sweet and clean Victorian era vagary.

RIVALRY AND REPARATIONS

In Volume Three of our Victorian Vagaries, when one of Elizabeth's cousins has been caught meeting with a man in secret, misinformation abounds, creating disaster for poor Kitty, who then vanishes. The search for Kitty drags on far longer than it ought, as the Darcys struggle to manage their business and estates, deal with the wagging tongues of society, console their grieving relatives, and find their missing sister. As any story worthy of Jane Austen should, our journey ends with a Bennet wedding.

Our friends from Sense & Sensibility also find their happiness, though not how the reader might expect in this 88,000 word slow burn, sweet and clean Victorian era vagary.

AVARICE AND AFFECTION

In Volume Four of our Victorian Vagaries, the Darcys support their married sisters, family, and friends through births, deaths, and weddings, as Lydia follows her passions and saves Sanditon from certain failure. Fortune hunters and catty debutantes follow Georgiana through the ton as she triumphs in love, while Lydia naively misunderstands the intent of her suitors.

Some friends from Mansfield Park and the cast of Sanditon join us, the Duchess of Devonshire visits, though not how you might expect, and all of our friends' stories conclude in this 95,000 word slow burn, sweet and clean Victorian era vagary.

A MUTUAL ACCORD

In this Austenesque Adventure, the courtships of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet, as well as Mr. Bingley and Jane Bennet, begin the day after the Netherfield Ball. A new sense of understanding between the couples paves the way for early declarations of affection, setting them on the path to happiness sooner than expected. However, as romance blossoms, unexpected family matters take center stage.

Lady Catherine de Bourgh, known for her imperious nature, is suddenly redeemed in the eyes of her family when it is revealed that she is gravely ill. Her vulnerability and quiet regret soften her character, drawing her estranged relatives closer. Elizabeth, Lydia, and Georgiana join Lady Catherine in Eastbourne as she consults a specialist about a dangerous but necessary medical procedure. However, what begins as a journey to provide comfort and companionship quickly turns into a mysterious web of intrigue and danger.

The enigmatic Count of St Germain appears unexpectedly, offering aid. His presence raises unsettling questions about time, immortality, and hidden secrets.

Meanwhile, Colonel Fitzwilliam, working undercover for the War Office, is investigating reports of espionage and treason in Eastbourne. To complicate matters, an old enemy appears to be involved with the very spies and traitors Fitzwilliam seeks to expose.

When Darcy disappears, Elizabeth finds herself in grave danger when she stumbles upon illicit dealings during her search for him. In this tale of love, intrigue, and adventure, the characters find their heart's desire, and also confront a plot that threatens the security of the kingdom.

EVER AFTER END

In this delightful Pride and Prejudice Variation, fortune takes a surprising turn for the Bennet family when Elizabeth Bennet wins a lottery, securing her family's financial future, even as Elizabeth learns that every blessing comes with curses of its own. A decision of Mr Collins improves fortunes even more for Jane Bennet, who finally feels free to focus on her own happiness. However, fate shifts once more when the Bingley party never arrives at Netherfield. Instead, they settle at The Gables, an estate in the charming village of Highbury.

Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy cross paths with the ladies at Ever After End, a grand estate owned by the enigmatic and benevolent Theodosia Darlington, who throws matchmaking house parties for select marriage minded individuals each summer, and whom Darcy calls godmother. Despite their best intentions, to assist Mr Darlington with an estate matter, both gentlemen soon find themselves captivated by the spirited Elizabeth and the serene Jane. As other guests, eager for matches, weave webs of admiration and competition, the peaceful countryside of Somerset becomes a stage for surprises, misunderstandings, and unexpected unions.

Away from the familiar pressures and prying eyes of Meryton, Elizabeth and Darcy's sparks ignite their interest in one another, while Jane and Bingley face their own journey to happiness. Amid the lively games, morning strolls, and lingering glances, true love emerges in a tale of wit, charm, and second chances, proving that the path to happiness is often unpredictable—and ever enchanting. Ever After End invites readers to a world where fortunes rise, hearts awaken, and love blossoms in the most unexpected of places.

UNHINGED

In this irreverent, wildly imaginative collection, Jane Austen's beloved world is gleefully upended and reimagined through the lens of pop culture, fantasy, time travel, and musical mayhem. “Unhinged: A Pride and Prejudice Pop-Culture Parody Collection” features four delightfully twisted novellas that throw decorum to the wind and invite Elizabeth Bennet and her companions into some of the strangest and most hilarious adventures Regency England has ever seen.

"The Traveller" – Elizabeth Bennet never expected the aftermath of her first proposal to lead to a romp through time. Whisked away by a mysterious time traveller and his colourful companion, the pair must journey across centuries to prevent a villainous disruption in Queen Victoria’s timeline. Along the way, they encounter chewing gum, conspiracies, and complications of the heart.

"Beautiful Magic" – The Bennet sisters are no ordinary young ladies—they're wizards, trained in the art of magic at the The Everwynne School of Wizardry. When two powerful and enigmatic wizards, Messrs. Bingley and Darcy, arrive in Hertfordshire, sparks fly—both magical and romantic. But not everyone is pleased to see Elizabeth catching Mr. Darcy’s eye. As rivalries and forbidden enchantments swirl, Elizabeth finds herself a target of jealousy and malice. In a world where power can corrupt and magic conceals as much as it reveals, her greatest challenge may not be mastering spells—but surviving a courtship.

"I'll Be Loving You" – When Elizabeth’s cousin, a member of America’s hottest boyband, “The New Beaux of Boston” inherits an Earldom, the entire band visits Meryton on a Regency tour. The local ladies are completely swooned—and the local gentlemen – even the regiment – thoroughly outshined. As the battle for attention heats up, Darcy and Bingley must compete with pop stars, dance moves, and catchy ballads for the Bennet sisters' affections.

"The Moffats in Meryton" – When a colorful troupe of traveling entertainers visit Netherfield, they upend life as the gentry know it. Led by the unflappable Sir Kermit MacDermott, the Moffats are eccentric performers whose names, flamboyant attire, and personalities are suspiciously reminiscent of a certain variety show from another universe. With the dramatic Miss Portia Everard, the mysteriously continental Signore Gonzalo Ganso, and the aspiring humorist Mr Fosworth Bearleigh in tow, they bring musical mayhem, theatrical chaos, and more than a few romantic entanglements. Can polite society survive an operatic duel in the ballroom and a comedy revue in the drawing room?

Whether you're a longtime Austenite or just here for frog jokes, Unhinged is a joyous, satirical romp through Regency romance with a dash of madness and a wink to fandoms you never expected to find in Austenesque Fiction.

A LADY'S BIRTHDAY WISH

ALBW 3D.png

On the morning of her 37th birthday, Jane Austen suffers an unexpected fall during a solitary walk. When she awakens, disoriented and aching, she finds herself on the path to Oakham Mount, being tended by none other than Elizabeth Bennet. To her astonishment, Jane discovers she has somehow entered the world of Pride and Prejudice...a world she thought existed only within the pages of her novel.

When she is escorted to Netherfield Park, Jane quickly learns that while Jane Bennet and Mr. Bingley have married and are living happily at Netherfield, Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy remain estranged. To Jane’s dismay, the story she so carefully crafted has gone awry. Determined to restore the love story she once imagined, Jane feigns amnesia from her accident, giving her the excuse to remain among the Bennets and Bingleys while she devises a plan to repair the fractured path of Elizabeth and Darcy’s romance.

But as Jane Austen meddles in her characters’ lives, she discovers that their hearts and choices are more complex than even she could have foreseen. With wit and wisdom, she must navigate misunderstandings, pride, and prejudice to guide Elizabeth and Darcy toward their happily ever after...while grappling with the extraordinary reality of living in the world she created.

Written in celebration of Jane Austen’s 250th birthday, A Lady’s Birthday Wish is a delightful and heartfelt variation that blends humor, insight, and the timeless magic of love, proving that even a great author may need a second chance to perfect her tale.

HOW IT WOULD BE

Book.png

Written in honor of Jane Austen's 250th Birthday, "How It Would Be" is a short story of 11,000 words.

As Mrs. Bennet's forty-sixth birthday approaches, her one birthday wish is simple...or so she claims. To see her last unmarried daughter finally wed. With Elizabeth Darcy hosting a splendid garden party in Ramsgate in her mother’s honor, Mrs. Bennet declares it the perfect occasion to double as a wedding breakfast for Mary...if only a suitable groom can be found in time.

Unfortunately for Mary, her mother’s idea of “suitable” is the most intolerable man visiting Ramsgate. Mortified by her mother’s schemes, Mary finds herself retreating into unexpectedly easy conversation with the one gentleman she has always found interesting, though she would never admit it aloud. As the summer unfolds, with Mrs. Bennet plotting schemes at a dizzying pace, Mary must decide whether to open her heart. Will the visit end with the sound of wedding bells or another of Mrs. Bennet’s melodramatic sighs? A witty, romantic short story of mistaken intentions, meddling mothers, and a quiet young woman’s discovery that the best love stories are sometimes the ones that bloom under everyone’s nose.

RESILIENCE

3D Book.png

When Mr Bennet unexpectedly acquires a fortune through prudent investment with his brother-in-law, he soon discovers that wealth brings complications he had never anticipated. Deciding that the most efficient use of his new means is to secure advantageous marriages for his daughters, Mr Bennet resolves to reward obedience and punish displeasure by making his approval a requirement for them to receive any dowry at all, and arranging their futures according to his own judgment.

Elizabeth Bennet is unprepared for the first fracture this creates within her family. When it becomes known that her elder sister has the largest dowry in their family, Jane, her gentle and beloved sister, forms an immediate and intimate friendship with Caroline Bingley. When Jane perceives that Miss Bingley holds Elizabeth in disdain, she quietly but decisively withdraws her affection from her own sister. What begins as a subtle distance hardens over time, and the rift between Jane and Elizabeth persists long after Jane’s marriage and departure from Longbourn.

Amid these strains, Elizabeth finds unexpected understanding and companionship in Mr Darcy. Their growing attachment, conducted with discretion and mutual regard, offers her a sense of constancy she has lost elsewhere. Determined to escape Jane’s watchful scrutiny, they plan to continue their courtship privately when Elizabeth travels to London in the spring. Those plans are swiftly undone.

Lydia’s elopement, Jane’s refusal to accept any future responsibility for her younger sisters, and Mr Bennet’s decisive arrangements of marriages for Mary and Kitty in the north force Elizabeth into unfamiliar roles of advocate, protector, and supporter. When Mary and Kitty depart Longbourn, Elizabeth accompanies them to Derbyshire, and despite Jane’s determined efforts to interfere, her relationship with Mr Darcy deepens beyond all expectation.

Elizabeth and Darcy marry in defiance of manipulation and family pressure but their happiness is soon tested. Word arrives from Newcastle that Lydia is in desperate need of help. Elizabeth brings her sister back to Pemberley, only to discover that Wickham’s name has poisoned local opinion, and the tenants and villagers object to the disgraced Mrs Wickham residing in the great house.

Elizabeth must now do what no one else will: help Lydia reclaim her dignity, and her life. As Lydia struggles to heal from past harm, rebuild her shattered confidence, and face the painful loss of her closest sister’s friendship, Elizabeth works to earn the respect of her new community, mend what can be mended within her family, and prove that resilience…quiet, persistent, and compassionate…can restore what cruelty and neglect have nearly destroyed.

Resilience is a deeply emotional Pride and Prejudice Variation that explores sisterhood tested by self-interest, devotion forged through hardship, and the courage required not merely to survive, but to begin anew.

Trigger Warning: Miscarriage. Also, one character (Not Miss Darcy) slaps her brother with an open palm.
